Virginia Leah Day of Redmond, OR, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2013. She was 93.
Virginia was born September 11, 1919, in Harney County, OR, to James and Lefa Williams. Virginia attended Redmond Union High School. She was married to Floyd William Day in 1938 and they lived in Oregon, Ohio, and Texas during their many years of marriage.
Virginia was all about family. She loved to go and do everything with them. She never got her drivers license, so she relied on others to drive her around. She had many interests and hobbies including: gardening, fishing, camping, and shopping. Her favorite thing to do though was going and watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She was also a huge Elvis Presley fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd William Day; her brothers, Don Williams and Jess (Bud) Williams, and sons-in-law, Dennis Lenaburg and Jesse Lee Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Day) Lenaburg, Livingston, TX, and Judee (Day) Jones, Redmond, OR; sisters, Doris Trautman, Moses Lake, WA, Darlene Morrison, Newport, OR, and Carole Hancock, Powell Butte, OR. grandchildren, Lori (Jamie) Ryburn, Onalaska, TX, Cindy (Curt) Simmons, Redmond, OR, Cary (Kristi) Lenaburg, Alvin, TX, Kelly Gillmann, Redmond, OR, Kevin (Tammy) Lenaburg, League City, TX, Julie Jones, Redmond, OR, and Jodie Desanto, Redmond, OR. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held in her honor, Saturday, February 9, 2013. Any contributions may be made to Veterans Hospital of Bend, OR.
