Jack Johnston of Redmond, Oregon died February 7, 2013, at his home at the age of 86. Jack was born January 18, 1927 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Noah and Nellie (Ralston) Johnston. Jack served in the United States Army from 1950-1952. On November 17, 1952, he married Mona Bishop in Albany, OR. They resided in California, where Jack worked as manager at a hardware store. In 1989 they moved to Central Oregon, where Jack continued to work, first for Country Boys Mobile Homes in Redmond, and later for True Value Hardware in Terrebonne. Jack enjoyed tinkering with wood projects for Mona to later paint. He also enjoyed yard sales, and collecting coins and chess sets.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mona Johnston; children, Glenna Giddens and Brenda Gayle Adams; 3 grandchildren, Chris, Josh and Brenda; 3 great- grandchildren; 2 brothers, Noah and Floyd Johnston. He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 4 brothers.
