Bend will hold its third business-creating Startup Weekend next month, and this one dovetails with the 10th annual Bend Venture Conference.
Startup Weekends allow budding entrepreneurs to pitch ideas and launch startup companies in 54 hours, starting on Fridays and finishing on Sundays. The city hosted previous events in May and November.
The next Startup Weekend is scheduled to start Oct. 18, the same day that promising startups compete for investment at the Bend Venture Conference, according to a news release from Economic Development for Central Oregon.
Bringing the two events together captures both ends of the entrepreneurial spectrum, Jim Coonan, EDCO’s venture catalyst, said in the news release.
