There are multiple openings on the City of Bend Accessibility Advisory Committee, and the city is seeking applications from people who would like to volunteer for the positions.
Committee members assist and advise the city on the “most appropriate means to make programs, services, activities and facilities accessible to Bend’s citizens,” according to a city news release. The city manager appoints committee members for two-year terms.
Each position is for a specific type of representative. The current openings are for:
• One individual with disabilities actively engaged in enhancing accessibility in the city.
• One local business representative.
• One citizen at large.
• One professional from the building, engineering, design or architectural industry.
Applicants must live in the city. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Nov. 22. For more information and an application, visit www.bendoregon.gov/committee or contact the city of Bend, 710 N.W. Wall St.
