Dan Dillard, the Bend pastor injured in the Bear Creek motorcycle accident last month, continues to improve at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
According to updates provided by the family, doctors awoke Dillard on Saturday, and he was able to open his eyes and move his limbs. He was taken off his respirator Sunday and is breathing on his own.
He has undergone a number of surgical procedures aimed at fighting the infection in his body, and doctors are planning another surgery Thursday to repair his broken pelvis and seal his open wounds.
