A commercial truck driver was found dead at a Chemult truck stop on Monday morning, according to a release from Oregon State Police.
A state police trooper responded to a welfare call by a commercial trucking company after one of its employees failed to check in. The trooper found a 49-year-old man dead in the sleeping section of the truck, parked at a Pilot Travel Center.
State criminal investigators reported to the incident and after the initial investigation found no reason to believe the driver’s death was due to a crime.
The driver’s name is being withheld until next of kin have been notified.
