The Bulletin's Cookie Contest Returns

Do you make great cookies? The Bulletin wants to know.

The At Home section is hosting a cookie contest to determine the best cookies in Central Oregon.

The grand prize winner will receive a two-night stay at the Oregon Coast. Other winners will receive $25 in Downtown Dollars, which can be used at businesses in downtown Bend.

The winners will be determined by a panel of judges on Nov. 15.

Those interested in entering the competition must register by noon, Nov. 12.

Cookies will be divided into several categories:

• Chocolate chip

• Bar

• Traditional (This category will include cookies such as snickerdoodle, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin and other cookies that people are familiar with.)

• Nontraditional/wacky (This category is for cookies with unusual ingredients or preparations.)

• Youth (for bakers age 16 and younger.)

To register, email the following information to Name, type of cookie and contact information. Individuals can enter up to three types of cookies. Registration can also be mailed to: The Bulletin, Cookie Contest, P.O. Box 6020, Bend, OR 97708.

Those entering the competition must bring a dozen cookies, covered, on a disposable plate to The Bulletin for judging. Cookie submissions will be accepted the evening of Nov. 14 (until 7:30 p.m.) or the morning of Nov. 15 (between 8 and 10 a.m.).

All of the winning recipes will be published, alongside photos of the winning cookies, in the At Home section Dec. 3.
