2 join board of Cascade Bancorp

Two corporate executives with combined backgrounds in finance and law have joined the Cascade Bancorp board of directors, the Bend-based bank holding company announced Wednesday.

Annette Elg and Dennis Johnson become the first new directors since Cascade Bancorp, the parent company for Bank of the Cascades, merged in May with Home Federal Bank, formerly of Nampa, Idaho.

Elg, senior vice president since 2002 of Boise-based agribusiness giant J.R. Simplot Co., brings 35 years experience as a corporate finance executive, according to Bank of the Cascades.

Johnson since 1999 has been president and CEO of United Heritage Mutual Holding Co., a Meridian, Idaho-based firm that owns four insurance companies and does business in 36 states, according to its website.

“We are thrilled they have joined our board of directors and look forward to their contributions to strengthen our position as a premier community bank in the Northwest,” said Terry Zink, president and CEO of Cascade Bancorp, according to the announcement.
