Bend tourism officials want to add a secondary route to the Bend Ale Trail to highlight the distilleries, cideries, wineries and kombucha tea makers in the region, they said today.

Known as “Drinkable Detours Along the Bend Ale Trail,” the new path is designed to leverage the power of the Ale Trail to help promote Bend’s quickly emerging nonbeer beverage makers, according to Doug La Placa, president and CEO of Visit Bend, the city’s tourism promotion agency. The Drinkable Detours route could be added to the Ale Trail in the fall.
