Fishermen watch as the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife releases some of 1,550 trout into the Alton Baker Canoe Canal recently in Eugene. The ODFW released 1,000 one-pound rainbow trout raised at the department’s Leaburg Fish Hatchery. An additional 550 trout in the 12- to 14-inch class from Desert Springs Trout Farm were released near Summer Lake in Central Oregon.
