Details: The Bachelor Butte administration building, located in the West Village base area, is part of nearly $3 million in off-season improvements made at Mt.Bachelor this season.
Brian Powell, of Kirby Nagelhout Construction Co. and the project manager for the building, said construction began in June. Completion of the core and shell of the building is expected by Nov. 15, he said.
This year, he said, lockers from the guest services building will be brought into the building to equip the space for staff locker use. Next year, upon completion of the building, the space will be converted into the administration building, he said.
Powell said the construction costs for the 9,000-square-foot building are estimated at $1.45 million.
Construction is expected to resume next summer to complete interior finishes, such as carpeting and interior doors, Powell said.
