After a unanimous vote at a Senate confirmation hearing in Salem Friday, Deschutes County Sheriff Larry Blanton will hold a position on the Public Safety Standards and Training Board.
Blanton, who has been in Oregon law enforcement for 30 years, will work to improve public safety in the state. Blanton’s term will be begin March 1.
