BEIJING — Fang Lizhi, whose advocacy of economic and democratic freedoms shaped China’s brief era of student dissent that ended with the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and his exile, died Friday in Tucson, Ariz., his son, Fang Ke, said Saturday.
