With a dramatic 14-13 victory over defending champion Sherwood, Mountain View claims its first state football championship — and the first for a team from Bend in 71 years

HILLSBORO — It was a moment 33 seasons in the making.

Mountain View won its first state football title ever Saturday, upsetting top-ranked and previously undefeated Sherwood 14-13 in the Class 5A championship game before a crowd estimated at more than 4,000 at Hillsboro Stadium.
