Joyce C. Clifford, a nurse who advocatedapartnership of equals between doctors and nurses in the treatment of patients, and whose ideas were adopted in some of the nation’s best hospitals because they reduced medical errors and improved survival rates, died Oct. 21 in Boston. She was 76.
