Inquisitive engineer who helped develop the television set dies

Jack Inslee, an electrical engineer, was interested in everything from geology to gardening, building sets for plays and writing poetry.

Inslee died of cancer June 19 at age 81.

After college, he worked for the RCA research labs in Princeton, N.J.
