Cougar unseen since shooting

If wounded, cat — 1 of 2 believed to be near river — is especially dangerous

Authorities have received no reports of cougars on Bend’s south side since Friday, when Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies fired on a cat as it approached a home in the area.

Deputies believe they struck the cougar, but it took off before they could confirm it had been shot.
