GE to buy 25,000 electric cars over 5 years

SAN FRANCISCO — General Electric Co. said Thursday it will buy 25,000 electric vehicles over the next five years in an attempt to push the emerging technology and profit from its widespread rollout.

The purchases will include 12,000 Chevrolet Volts from General Motors Co. beginning next year.....
