‘Hud’ screenwriter Ravetch dies at 89

LOS ANGELES — Irving Ravetch, a two-time Academy Award-nominated screenwriter — for “Hud” and “Norma Rae,” written with his wife and collaborator, Harriet Frank Jr. — has died. He was 89.

Ravetch died Sunday of pneumonia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
