Fire near Sisters grows to 1,000 acres

A fire burning south of Sisters on U.S. Forest Service and private land has grown to 1,000 acres.

The fire, located about 6 to 7 miles south of Sisters was spotted sometime after noon on Monday. At 3 p.m., officials said the blaze was about 8 to 10 acres in size. By 5 p.m., it had grown to 1,000....
