Officer stable after Woodburn shooting

SALEM — A Woodburn police sergeant was in stable condition Wednesday after being shot while looking for a burglary suspect at an apartment complex.

The alleged assailant, 23-year-old Billy Jack Gray, was in critical condition after he was shot by a Marion County deputy.
