Few businesses get interest-free federal loans

ARC loan application process too lengthy, some say

WASHINGTON — For a small business trying to find a new line of credit, the federal ARC loan program sounded tailor-made: Created through the stimulus bill, it gives qualifying small businesses up to $35,000 in interest-free loans to pay down existing debt until they secure new financing.
