Hiker’s deadly fall believed accidental

PORTLAND — The Oregon State Police said a hiker at Silver Falls State Park east of Salem has died in a fall that appeared to be accidental. The police said the young man was hiking with a party Saturday and fell to a ledge near Winter Falls. He was not immediately identified.
