Madras softball opens tournament with shutout

Buffs’ Maycee Abendschein strikes out 11, and JoElla Smith leads offense with four hits

SISTERS — Madras blew out Astoria 15-0 on Friday during the first day of the Sisters softball tournament.

White Buffaloes pitcher Maycee Abendschein shut out the Fishermen after giving up only one hit and striking out 11 over five innings. (The game ended early due to the 10-run rule).
