Mountain View stays with Jefferson in the state final before losing, 57-48

EUGENE — It was not a bad run for “a bunch of kids from a snowboarding town.”

Mountain View pushed top-ranked Jefferson to the brink Saturday before falling to the Democrats of Portland 57-48 in the Class 5A boys basketball state final at McArthur Court.

The Cougars (23-2 overall) led at the end....
