Bend doctor honored for efforts to help native plants

Stu Garrett, 60, is a family physician in Bend, but in his spare time, he likes to learn about plants.

So, in 1978, Garrett co-founded the High Desert Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon. Now, the society is honoring him as a fellow, one of the group's highest honors.
