Bend teacher to travel to China for exchange

Katie Ford to teach Chinese students conversational English

So far, Katie Ford has only learned a couple of Chinese words. Ni hao, or hello, is one of them.

But soon, Ford hopes to add more phrases to her Chinese vocabulary.

Ford, 28, will be the first teacher to represent Bend-La Pine Schools when she travels to Yangzhou, China, on Feb. 22 to teach....
