Pilot Butte Challenge around the bend

The 11th annual Pilot Butte Challenge, a running race from the base to the summit of Pilot Butte in Bend, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m.

The 1-mile run/walk features an elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

The event is hosted by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
