Market forces push Oregon’s home insurance premiums up

Rates are among the lowest in the nation, but some have soared. Now is a good time to ask: What should you look for in a policy?

Homeowners insurance premiums in Oregon are, on average, among the lowest in the country. But market forces are pushing those rates up for some Oregonians, including a few in the state who have recently seen their premiums rise by as much as 30 percent.
