Bend-La Pine middle schools put in extra effort to help incoming sixth-graders transition smoothly

From the moment feet hit the pavement at Sky View Middle School in Bend on Thursday, it was clear what the day’s event was about. Messages scrawled across the sidewalks in chalk welcomed the sixth-graders to the school, inviting them into the building and telling them they were welcome here.
