LAKE STEVENS, Wash. " Bend's John Carrol, 47, took second Sunday in the men's 45-49 division of the Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens triathlon. Carrol finished the 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run in 4 hours, 42 minutes and 47 seconds.
