American Indian artists find inspiration in relics in the vault at the High Desert Museum

Last November, American Indian artists Lillian Pitt, Rick Bartow and Pat Courtney Gold were invited to explore the vault at the High Desert Museum. They combed around, examining bags, baskets, beads, pendants and more. Their aim was to connect with their heritage and, with luck, create new art....
