Deschutes eyes energy grants

Renewable, energy-efficiency projects for public buildings could be funded

Two renewable energy projects in Deschutes County could get a boost from federal economic stimulus funding, if the county is awarded grants totalling $424,824 that it applied for from the state Department of Energy.

County officials are asking for a $179,044 grant to put toward a methane....
