Forest Service may open more local areas for firewood cutting

Firewood cutters could have some new areas to chop up dead lodgepole pines west and south of Bend this fall.

The U.S. Forest Service is proposing to open up two new areas for personal firewood use, one along the Cascade Lakes Highway and another north of Sunriver, and is asking for public....
