Arnie Swarens, a longtime Bend Realtor and founding board member of Bank of the Cascades, died Monday at the age of 76.

Swarens came to Bend in 1953 at the age of 21, attracted by the area's hunting and fishing, but with no idea what he wanted to do with his life, he said in a 2001 interview....
