BLM to hang onto 1,577-acre parcel northeast of Bend

Agency weighed land’s wildlife, historic value against school funding in rejecting state’s request

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will hold onto 1,577 acres of land northeast of Bend that the Oregon Department of State Lands wanted transferred into state ownership.
