Philadelphia newsman went to jail to protect paper’s sources

Taylor had journalism in his blood

Robert E. Lee Taylor Jr., who was the publisher of The Philadelphia Bulletin when it was one of the nation’s largest newspapers and went to jail in a test case of journalists’ right to keep sources confidential, died Thursday at his home in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He was 96.
