Warm and Creamy Berry Shortcake

Makes enough for 6 to 8 servings.

Here’s a warm version of the classic shortcake. You heat the biscuits and, instead of whipped cream, you substitute the cream sauce that follows. Inspiration for this came from Sally Schmidt of the French Laundry Restaurant in Yountville, Calif.
