Wheelchair racer places first in Heaven Can Wait

Walter Jones, a 23-year-old wheelchair racer from Bend, posted the fastest finishing time Sunday in the 2009 Heaven Can Wait 5-kilometer race.

Jones covered the course, which started and finished at Drake Park in downtown Bend, in 17 minutes and 42 seconds. Second overall among the more than 700....
