A push for new taxes on pop, beer and wine to help pay for Americans’ health care is stirring up more than just the beverage industry

WASHINGTON — All of us — or at least most all of us — drink soda, beer and wine. Maybe that’s why there’s such an uproar over a proposed tax on such products, even for the lofty goal of paying for American’s health care.
