Jeffery Lee Spoonire, the Bend man convicted in the 1982 murder of Mary Ann Thomas, was denied release from prison by the Oregon State Parole and Post Prison Supervision Board on Wednesday, according to a news release from Deschutes County District Attorney Mike Dugan.
