Biomass plant land deal OK’d

Power facility is expected to create 20 jobs in La Pine

The La Pine Industrial Park could get a 19.8-megawatt biomass power plant, after the Deschutes County Commission voted unanimously Monday afternoon to accept an offer from St. Helens-based Biogreen Sustainable Energy Co. to buy land in the park.
