Affordable housing project gets land, loan

Deschutes commission clears way for new homes for low-income seniors

The developer of an affordable housing project for seniors in La Pine plans to break ground on the project as soon as next week, after the Deschutes County Commission approved the transfer of about 4.5 acres of county land and a $103,000 loan on Wednesday morning.
