Bend homeless shelter awaits expansion ruling

The Shepherd’s House wants to nearly double its capacity. Some neighbors have complained about the transient residents. A decision is expected soon, but there’s one more chance for the public to comment.

After more than two years of back and forth with the city of Bend, state planning officials and neighbors, The Shepherd’s House, a faith-based homeless shelter for men, may soon be able to nearly double the number of beds it can provide for residents.
