Wife killed in murder, suicide try, police say

MEDFORD — Medford police say a 79-year-old man who built an Oregon grocery chain is in the hospital and his 80-year-old wife is dead of knife wounds.

Lt. Tim Doney says it is a case of homicide and an attempted suicide.
