EUGENE — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed protecting a network of sloughs and backwaters along the Willamette River as critical habitat for the Oregon chub.
The area amounts to 132 acres of federal, state and private lands in Benton, Lane, Linn and Marion counties.
