You need a certain amount of moxie to take a hand-carved, wooden French commode from 1860 and paint it an offbeat bright aqua.

Then again, it probably takes even more chutzpah to move from a 1,400-acre ranch in Silver Lake into a brownstone row house in Bend’s Mill Quarter mixed-use....
