Two local students have received $1,000 awards for their volunteer work.
Whitney Helikson, 18, of Crooked River Ranch, and Mimi Ausland, 12, of Bend, were named Oregon’s top two youth volunteers for 2009 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
