Payton Jordan, a standout collegiate sprinter who went on to coach the powerful U.S. track and field team at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, died Thursday at his home in Laguna Hills, Calif. He was 91.
The cause was cancer, his daughter Cheryl Melville told The Associated Press.
