Several snowboarders with ties to Central Oregon had strong performances last weekend at a variety of events.

Ben Watts, of Bend, placed 12th out of 35 competitors in the halfpipe contest at a U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix event Saturday in Boreal, Calif.
